This New Weather Camera Project located in Wolfforth has taken over seven months for development. As of today, Live Broadcasting from the cameras began. My appreciation for Randy Criswell, the City Manager of Wolfforth, for approving the location of the Skycams. We needed help from the Wolfforth Department of Water for installation. And finally Optimum for creating a bandwith solution. Meteorologist Steve Kersh is the installer of these and all of the 33 Weather Skycams. These cameras provide a valuable source of tracking weather events over the City of Wolfforth and the LBB Metro area. Soon a very special Lubbock owned business will sponsor these Skycams. Despite an Exceptional Drought during this Triple-Dip La Nina climate pattern, Lake Alan Henry remains around 76% of capacity. Unfortunately White River Lake east of Lubbock is down to 13.3% of capacity. Sadly, Lake Mackenzie near Tulia is down to only 6.5% of capacity.
Our Chief Engineer captured a picture of this small thunderstorm. Which happened to flood Slaton Streets from our Slaton Skycam!
Just finished the weather forecast on KAMC Weather and discussed the strong thunderstorm over Childress moving toward the southwest. Localized flooding possible. #txwx #rain
